These sculptures and gazing balls remind me a lot of the greenhouses, garden centers and nurseries I used to visit with my family. Almost every weekend during the growing season in Southern Ontario we’d devote at least some time to exploring theses places. I was always most drawn to the fountains, garden gnomes, statuary (especially the ones that were reminiscent of Greek gods and goddesses, and the medieval-looking grotesques and cherubs), and multi-colored gazing balls. This exhibition made me a little nostalgic for those days.
